Landscape with Factory Chimney 1910: A Pivotal Work by Wassily Kandinsky
Wassily Kandinsky's Landscape with Factory Chimney (1910) captures a transformative moment in art history, bridging the artist's early expressionist phase and his impending breakthrough into pure abstraction. This museum-quality framed poster reproduction invites you to own a piece of that revolution.
In 1910, Kandinsky was living in Munich, where he co-founded the Neue Künstlervereinigung München (New Artists' Association). His work from this period reflects a deep engagement with color symbolism and a gradual dissolution of representational forms. Landscape with Factory Chimney exemplifies this transition: the factory chimney, a symbol of modernity and industrialization, is rendered with bold, almost fauvist brushstrokes, while the surrounding landscape pulsates with emotive color. Kandinsky believed art should evoke spiritual and emotional responses, and here, the tension between industrial reality and lyrical nature foreshadows his later abstract compositions.
This fine art print is produced on master's edition, museum-quality paper with a matte, uncoated finish that enhances the depth and texture of the original oil painting. The natural white, off-white tone ensures archival longevity and accurate color reproduction. Each framed poster is ready to hang, with a sturdy pine wood frame available in four elegant finishes white, natural wood, dark wood, and black to complement any interior.
